Upgrade Proposals

Bloomer Hill

Remaining Costs: $500

We are seeking to upgrade the antennas on our Bloomer Hill repeater (W6SCR – 145.290). The antenna upgrades will improve signal quality and coverage, thus increasing the overall usability of the repeater. Additionally, the replacement antennas will facilitate installation of an upgraded repeater and bring both P25-based voice and data to the site. Together, these enhancements will raise the feature set of the site, encourage P25 adoption in the local ham community and empower the team to better serve the public.

Current Status: The receive antenna has been upgraded. Talk-in coverage of the repeater has dramatically increased, with units being heard in downtown Sacramento. The transmit antenna has not been upgraded yet and we are seeking funding.

Platte

Anticipated Costs: $1000

We are seeking to upgrade the antennas on our Platte repeater (K6EGN – 147.995). The antenna upgrades will improve signal quality and coverage, thus increasing the overall usability of the repeater. With upgraded antennas, the site will provide digital radio coverage to the north county, encourage P25 adoption in the local ham community and empower the team to better serve the public.

Current Status: We are seeking funding for the new antennas. Presently, the repeater is off the air due to tower work for the new County P25 Phase II TRS.
